Day 3 Stone Town Tour – Abeid Amani Karume International Airport

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you'll be transferred to meet our expert local guide for an insightful tour of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the cultural heart of Zanzibar. With its centuries of history shaped by African, Arab, Indian, and European influences, Stone Town offers a fascinating glimpse into the island's rich past.
Your tour begins at the vibrant local market, alive with colorful produce, aromatic spices, and the sounds of lively bargaining. From there, you’ll visit the peaceful 19th-century Anglican cathedral, built on the former site of Zanzibar’s slave market following the abolition of slavery in 1873.
As you stroll through the winding alleys, you'll see traditional Arab homes with intricately carved doors and secluded inner courtyards, contrasted with Indian-style houses featuring ornate balconies and railings. Key landmarks you’ll visit include the Tip Tip House, the Old Fort, and the People’s Palace Museum.
Lunch will be enjoyed at the Silk Route, a rooftop Indian restaurant offering stunning ocean views and a vibrant atmosphere. Savor the rich flavors of the cuisine, and if you wish, pair your meal with a refreshing cocktail. (Please note: access to the Silk Route is via a long staircase.)
Following lunch, we’ll provide a comfortable transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
